Young star of recently promoted English side Queens Park Rangers, Adel Taarabt, has publicly stated that there has been interest from both Chelsea and Arsenal to acquire his services due to his exceptional season in the Championship.
The Moroccan midfielder, who regretted his previous signing with Tottenham due to his inability to break into the team, has shown great improvement in his game and was critical in QPR’s promotion to the Premier League with coach Neil Warnock labelling him a footballing genius after producing the goal of the season in the 2009/10 Championship Season and also gaining the Football League’s player of the season award last season.
Talking to L’Equipe, Taarabt stated: “QPR will demand £10 million pounds for me, and for now, the clubs do not move too much.
“I had contact with Arsenal and Chelsea, but it is a little muddled [difficult]. Arsenal have not yet sold [Cesc] Fabregas, and as for Chelsea, they do not yet have a coach, so we will see.
“I would like to stay in London – it is the best city in the world, and with Queens Park Rangers? Why not?
“When I talked with the coach, he told me the club would aim to be in the top eight.”

Obviously with Arsenal having not having resolved transfer problems with Cesc Fabregas and Chelsea still without a coach, a move away from Loftus Road has been put on hold for now. But if indeed Arsenal are keen to sign Taarabt in the wake of Fabregas’ possible exit, does he have the ability to bring to the squad what Fabregas can? What do you think? Is he the answer to our midfield woes if Fabregas leaves?
