With many fans labelling the transfer dealings surrounding Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas and Barcelona FC a complete farce, it seems now the higher-ups are ready to voice their frustration with the Catalan club too.
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has publicly expressed his feelings on the matter with it evident that he is not too happy with the way Barcelona have proceeded with negotiations.
He said on the matter: “They have been messing about for a year and a half now and they have got to make up their minds.
“The ball is in their court. They have made one bid of around £26 million and another rather tentative one.
“If they want to buy the player they are going to have to pay the right price – and when you look at what is being paid elsewhere I don’t think what we are asking is at all unreasonable.”
He went on to add after being asked if they were close to closing transfer negotiations he replied: “We are getting close to that.”

Adding to the pressure, it has also been reported by the Mirror that Arsene Wenger has sent a e-mail to Barcelona president Sandro Rossell stating they have until the 5th of August to meet the gunner’s demands or end up not getting him at all.
On top of this is speculation surrounding like-for-like transfer target Juan Mata, who is dubbed to be Fabregas’ replacement once he does indeed leave to the Nou Camp. It has been reported that the gunners have matched the valuation for the young Valenica star, along with Tottenham but saying this nothing official on the matter has been reported as yet.
I think the way Arsene is handling negotiations with Barcelona over Cesc Fabregas is the right thing to do. Don’t get me wrong, he should be allowed to leave after serving the club loyally for 8 years, although when the like of Stuart Downing is getting signed in the £20m region, £26m for Fabregas is just a joke.
With all the pressure on Barcelona to meet Arsenal’s valuation by the deadline, hopefully this saga will finally end with Fabregas leaving for the right price and Juan Mata coming in to replace him in the Arsenal ranks. That way he can at least has a little time to gel with the team! (that is if you believe all the reports about him being in Arsenal’s grasp are hopefully true, fingers crossed!)
