For once someone out of the Barcelona camp is talking some sense and is being more respectful to Arsenal. Gerard Pique in the past has been slammed for comments regarding Cesc Fabregas’s return to his boyhood club, but has admitted Barcelona must be patient in their attempts to get Fabregas to the Nou Camp.
With the transfer saga still no nearer conclusion, despite Wenger stating that they have until the end of July to sort it out, the Catalan giants have not come up with an acceptable offer for the Arsenal skipper.
“All signings have their due process,” said Pique.
“Some are easy, some are more complicated.
“He is an important player for Arsenal so it is sensible that they are trying to keep him.
“There has been a lot of talk about this, which is normal.
“It is best to let the negotiations take their due course and see what happens.”
Team-mate Xavi meanwhile believes that Fabregas’s arrival will not effect the development of youngster Thiago, who scored both goals in Barca’s Audi Cup win over hosts Bayern Munich on Wednesday, who has been tipped for great things at the Nou Camp:
“There will be games for all the players,” said Xavi.
“In any case, Thiago is compatible with Fabregas.”
To be honest we can’t really blame the Barca players for speaking out regarding Fabregas as they would get questioned so much, however they must watch what they say. But Pique has made up for his past comments (slightly) by stating that Barcelona should be patient, and I agree, be patient… Let Fabregas stay for another year or two
