Things have been patchy to say the least with the Spaniard with the team photo postponed due to ‘bad weather’ and also his only recent return to training after what seemed to be a fabricated injury to cover up negotiations with Barcelona.
Amidst all the speculation surrounding his future at the Emirates, including rumours that he will pay a proportion of his transfer fee and accept a low-wage packet at Barcelona, it has been reported that both clubs still continue to struggle to come to an agreement over price.
Although in an attempt to rush through the deal in favour of the gunners, it has been reported by the the Mail that Arsenal have threatened to play Fabregas in the Champions League qualifier on August 16/17 to leave him cup-tied for the competition if Fabregas makes the move to the Nou Camp after that date.
The move gives Barcelona a strict deadline to work by, and also gives Arsenal more assurance of how the Fabregas saga will pan out before the end of the transfer window at the end of August, while providing time to keep the Mata move alive, just.
With each passing day it seems Juan Mata’s likelihood of joining the gunners dwindles even further with Valencia manager, Unai Emery, recently stating: “Mata has gone through a process of doubts about his future. But now we all believe he will stay at Valencia.”
What once seemed a possible switch for Mata, is now turning to a pending miracle. Fab needs to go, simple as that, so we can recruit the necessary replacements before the Premier League season begins in mid-August. His head is obviously no longer in the game at Arsenal, we need someone whose is or at least someone who wants to be!
