According to ESPNSoccernet, Arsenal have included wantaway duo Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri in their squad for the Champions League play-off matches against Udinese.
With the recent riots around North London, doubt has been cast over whether the home fixture will go ahead next week, but in the mean time the Gunners have made a big statement by including their two star midfielders in the squad, which will effectively cup-tie the pair, making them ineligible to play for another club in the Champions League. Nasri though, is suspended for the first game due to his behaviour after the Barcelona defeat.
This is a very bold, and smart move by Wenger as it effectively sets a deadline for Barcelona & Manchester City to purchase the services of the two Gunner stars. Lets hope that they both don’t make a move in time and we keep them both for the season.
