Arsenal’s official website have confirmed that Eboue, Vela and young Brazilian defender Botelho have completed moves away from the club, with the later two heading to Spain on loan.
Arsenal have agreed terms with Turkish side Galatasaray for the permanent transfer of Emmanuel Eboue, 28, who signed for Arsenal from Belgian side Beveren in January 2005, made a total of 214 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions. He was an integral part of the side in past years due to his versatility, however has fallen out of favour in the recent two seasons due to a few notable mistakes. A statement on the clubs website read:
“Everyone at Arsenal thanks Manu for his contribution towards the Club and wishes him the best of luck for the future.”
Meanwhile, Mexican Carlos Vela, 22, and Brazilian Pedro Botelho, 21, will both spend the 2011/12 campaign on loan in Spain’s La Liga. Vela’s lack of first team opportunities has driven him to spending another season long loan spell in La Liga, this time at Real Sociedad. Defender Pedro Botelho will spend this term with the newly promoted Rayo Vallecano, signalling his third successive La Liga season long loan spell since joining Arsenal in 2008.
