After making it through to the fourth round of the Carling Cup with, in the end, a comfortable win over Shrewsbury Town, Arsenal have drawn Bolton in what will be a re-match of Arsenal’s latest Premier League fixture.
The gunners ran in three goals against the Trotters, a game in which Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie scored his 99th and 100th goal. But the Carling Cup match may prove to be a harder task as defender Gary Cahill and in-form striker Ivan Klasnic will more than likely feature for the side after being notable absentees in the comfortable victory to Arsenal.
While the match did end-up a comfortable win for the first-team, it is more than likely that Wenger will field a team that more or less resembles the one used in the last Carling Cup fixture and should turn out to be a good test for the gunners’ exciting young prospects.
Hopefully the mixture of youngsters and experience Wenger used in the last Carling Cup match will pay-off as the likes of Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ryo Miyaichi look to impress and trouble the Bolton defence!
