While many fans see a fresh start on the cards after a poor start to the season, opinions among the Swansea camp are divided with manager Brendon Rogers fearing a backlash from our heavy defeat to United while on the other end of the spectrum star player Scott Sinclair sees an opportunity to secure some points.
Rogers, the former reserve-team coach of Chelsea, said on the upcoming match:
Having worked with big players before, I know when they lose they are determined to come back and win the next game.
Arsenal are a very dangerous opponent for us because of what happened to them and big players are motivated to get over a defeat like that.
Arsenal are a magnificent club.
They had a very disappointing result in their previous game, but this was always going to be a tough game for us, like every other game.
I am sure they will be motivated to do well after losing to Manchester United, and they have new players in as well who will want to make a good start.
In contrast Sinclair shared his view on the United defeat and the upcoming match saying:
That was an incredible result.
I didn’t watch the game on the telly as I was out. But my mates were texting me the score and I couldn’t believe it as the texts were coming through. I thought they were winding me up.
Arsenal are still a class side and they may have made some new signings but that was a bad result for them.
Their confidence must have taken a bit of a knock and, hopefully, we can take advantage of that.
We have nothing to lose. Everybody is expecting Arsenal to beat us. There is no pressure on us whatsoever. But we’re going there full of confidence and looking to get a result.
As an Arsenal fan, I am definitely hoping for determined performance from the usual and new lads in the team. It is important to bounce back well from the United result and I feel the team is very hungry for a win and very keen to put the United result behind them. There is no better way then a convincing result and I am sure the team will put in a great performance!
