Kieran Gibbs believes that Arsenal are ready to turn their Premier League form around and start climbing the table, and have 100% faith in Wenger and each other.
Arsenal have had a tough start to the Premier League campaign so far, however they managed to battle back from one goal down to a 3-1 win over Shrewsbury Town in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night, with the young Englishman scoring his first goal for the club.
Speaking to the clubs official website, he said:
It’s not been the easiest of months, not just weeks, but I can assure everyone the team is together and you can see from the stats of the games what we are doing is right.
On some occasions we are not getting the results at the minute but we are looking to turn that around as soon as possible so that we can lift the Club.
We have progressed in our last couple of games but sometimes we do individually lack concentration.
You see other teams do it but then their opponents don’t score from it and it gets overlooked. But at the minute we make one mistake and it’s a goal. It’s unbelievable how much it has affected us but we will overcome it I am sure.
We bring a lot of trouble on ourselves at times but it happens in football. We are an extremely attacking team – we produce a lot of flair in our game. I think we know that we cannot be amazing going forward and the same going back.
I don’t think we need to show what type of man Arsène Wenger is, what the man has done is incredible – we are 100 per cent behind the manager.
Gibbs will be hoping he did enough against Shrewsbury to warrant a starting place against Bolton, however it looks likely that Wenger will turn to the more experienced Santos.
It is encouraging to see that the Arsenal camp is feeling ‘together’ and that not all is lost yet as there is a lot of fight left in this squad still, however if this defence is not sorted out and quickly then our season remain a shambles.
How is it that Arsenal defended so valiantly against Dortmund, then so poor agains Blackburn? Is it fatigue or just a lack of desire against a weaker team?
