The Italian manger, who won the double at Chelsea, also hinted at Harry Redknapp’s position after revealing that he has a strong desire to remain in England to manage a top club.
On the situation, Ancelotti said:
It’s evident that [Arsene] Wenger’s bench is wobbling and that in several months’ time, an English coach will be appointed to replace [Fabio] Capello in the national team, which will free up a place in a club.
But I am in no hurry. The fact that I’m not coaching does not cause me anguish. In fact, I am enjoying life.
I have a strong will to remain in England. For a coach, this is the ideal country.
But I would only consider [coaching] top clubs, including Tottenham and Liverpool.
The proposition itself is one that I am more on the fence about. After only seven games this season I would hate to see Arsenal’s style of football lost with Arsene Wenger’s departure after 15 successful years at the helm. I still feel Arsene needs longer to prove himself this season but I could also see Ancelotti bringing a no nonsense approach with fringe players who simply just don’t cut it. What do you guys think?
