Arsenal’s largest shareholder Stan Kroenke is set to attend Arsenal’s north London derby with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at the Emirates, and is it rumoured that the American billionaire will back Arsène Wenger financially this summer with a massive £100m transfer kitty according to The Telegraph.
Wenger has come under-fire recently after losses to AC Milan and Sunderland effectively ending their hopes for silverware for the seventh consecutive season and although his players, Arsenal’s hierarchy and now Kroenke are supporting the French manager, his future at the Emirates remains uncertain.
Arsenal are sitting fourth in the league, ahead of struggling Chelsea on goal difference and they must retain this position to qualify for next season’s Champions League, not only to keep hold of star players but they could also potentially miss out on the huge cash injection that qualification for Europe’s prestigious tournament brings.
In a bid to resurrect Arsenal’s status as a top class club it is believed that Stan Kroenke will be offering a wallet full of cash to Wenger for summer transfers described to be between “£50 million and £100 million”.
The Telegraph and their source suggested that the American businessman Kroenke can afford to hand over the new cash, even when he is believed to be bidding for the LA Dodgers baseball franchise.
Many fans have called for Kroenke’s head after remaining silent recently despite his huge stake in the club (62.89%) and is believed to be here for only business reasons meanwhile the Gunner squad is heading downhill along with the clubs reputation.

If this rumour eventuates into something concrete then many fans will be relieved to hear that their major stakeholder will finally inject the necessary cash to push Arsenal towards top honours after seven season without a trophy. Majority of Gooners were hoping to push Usmanov forward because of his willingness to load the bank account to purchase some quality players, so Kroenke now has the opportunity to gain the trust and respect from the Arsenal faithful.
Who would you purchase this summer? Gotze and Podolski are pretty much givens, maybe M’Vila or Sessegnon can add more strength, quality and versatility to the Gunners midfield. Comment below..
