With Mertesacker, Vermaelen and Koscielny pushing the Swiss defender down the pecking order, Djourou has been fortunate to find as much first team football as he has experienced this season due to the full-back injury crisis.
While he has been played out of position in the starts he has been given Djourou still had great words for the club saying:
I love Arsenal. I’m working in the shadows at present and waiting for another chance.
You have to admire his perseverance and he has become a useful utility defender amidst the injuries that have occurred to numerous the Arsenal defenders.
What do you guys think? Was it a good move by Arsenal to keep the Swiss defender? Feel free to leave a comment below!
