According to The Daily Mirror, mega-rich French club Paris St. Germain are planning a summer swoop for out-of-favour Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh.
While the Moroccan did impress when he initially arrived at the Emirates, there is no contending that presently the striker is simply not getting any match time and is bereft of confidence and form.
With recent rumours also surrounding Arsene Wenger’s plan to undertake a summer clear-out in the upcoming transfer window and also the apparent arrival of Cologne striker Lukas Podolski in the summer, Chamakh’s options seem very grim at the Emirates.
It is reported that Chamakh currently earns approximately £60,000 a week, which of course is not warranted considering the Moroccan has only made 16 appearances this season and has only scored once.
If current Arsenal transfer speculation is to be believed, the departure of fringe players with high earnings such as Chamakh needs to become reality. It is harsh to say but the Moroccan is no longer good enough to be at Arsenal and one feels he would have much more success (as well as playing time) elsewhere.
Along with PSG, it is also reported that Chamakh’s former club Bordeaux and also Florentina are also monitoring the situation.
