Key injuries to both Walcott and Chamberlain took much of the sting out of Arsenal’s attack and simply put their replacements, Chu-Young Park and Marouanne Chamakh, are simply not up to the calibre needed to have any influence over a majority of matches.

The introduction of Podolski would surely allow Wenger much more variability with tactics and formation changes when needed with Robin van Persie, Gervinho, Walcott, Chamberlain and eventually Miyaichi all set to be options for attack. It certainly is an exciting prospect!
