Arsène Wenger has revealed that Jack Wilshere will return before the end of the season as the Englishman has finally started training with a ball.
Wilshere has missed the entire season so far after undergoing ankle surgery back in September, but is nearing a return with only nine matches left in seven weeks.
Wilshere is back with the ball and for us that is a huge step. The work we do with the ball is always quite demanding.
Today we can say if all goes well now in three weeks he will be back with the squad. Then another two weeks to get fit. I don’t have to hold him back yet because at the moment he suffers a lot for fitness. But after three weeks we’ll have to.
I think he will play this season if he has no setbacks now. His last scan was positive, so he should be capable to play.
The Frenchman believes his young midfield maestro should be back in full training in three weeks. He will be a real asset for the season run in with Wenger finally able to have some depth to play around with.
A midfield three of Song, Wilshere and Rosicky sounds formidable, and the opportunity to bring on the likes of Arteta, Ramsey or Diaby will be a welcomed change from having an injury ravaged side.

With so many midfield options who do you think Wenger should start? And do even think he will invest in an attacking midfielder this summer? He has admitted he will buy quality not quantity this summer and has consistently stated that the Arsenal midfield is full of talent already, so he may only look to bring in a striker and another winger this off-season.
It would be perfect for Arsenal if Wilshere could develop into an attacking midfielder to solve the inconsistency that the Gunners have suffered from this season.
