As well as revealing Arsenal as an interested party, he has also confirmed that Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been in contact over a possible transfer.
Biglia in his career so far has won six caps for Argetina and has been in the Belgian Pro League with successful club side Anderlecht since 2006, where the team won the league title last season.
He is quoted as saying by The Sun:
Real Madrid and Arsenal have both been in contact.
I am still under contract with Anderlecht until 2015 but they know that I plan to leave.
If a club offers the right price, Anderlecht will let me go.
Personally, I am not at all familiar with the Argentine’s quality. What we can ascertain from this is that Arsene Wenger certainly seems to be in the market for a defensive midfielder, which obviously strengthens the speculation around Rennes star midfielder Yann M’Vila.
Speaking of Yann M’Vila, the Frenchman has re-iterated that he is not going to let any transfer speculation come before his duty to the French international team in Euro 2012.
The defensive midfielder has been praised by Arsenal’s own French internationals Laurent Koscielny and Bacary Sagna with both stating he would fit in well at the Emirates and would love to play alongside him.
As well as this, many Gooner’s have also called for Wenger to up the ante and try sign the highly rated midfielder, who has been compared to the likes of Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira and also French legend Claude Makelele.
M’Vila said on his club future to Goal.com:
My present at the moment is France. After the Euros we will see what happens with my future. There are many options open and I still don’t know what will happen.
We will have to talk about everything in a relaxed way but I don’t think my signing for another club will depend on what happens in the Euros.
Do I like the Premier League? Who doesn’t?
With strong links between Arsenal and the two defensive midfielders, who would you choose to have at the Emirates? Feel free to leave a comment below or discuss both Lucas Biglia and Yann M’Vila in the allArsenal.com Forums in the Transfer Rumours thread.
