According to Sky Sport News, Gunners right-back Bacary Sagna is unhappy with a reported contract offer by Arsenal that would only extend his current deal by a solitary season.
Speculation has been growing over the Frenchman with his contract set to enter it’s final year at the end of this season, particularly when he admitted earlier this season that he was envious of former team-mates Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy.
However, while the situation regarding his contract extension looks to some way off being resolved, the 29 year-old has stated that he is happy at the club and can’t wait to be playing regularly for Arsenal again.
Sagna is quoted as saying by Sky Sport News:
I’m very happy.
I’m very happy to be back to football and to play for Arsenal.
I’m looking forward to playing more games this season because I’ve been injured lately.
While on face the statement could be considered a positive one for Arsenal fans, it is still difficult to decipher what Sagna’s stance is on staying at Arsenal. We have, after all, seen these kind of statements from players who have departed in the past.

What is clear however is that Arsenal should be trying to retain a player that could be considered one of the best in the Premier League for the past few seasons as Jenkinson still has some improving to do. I certainly feel the Frenchman is worth more than a one year extension despite his two leg-breaks.
