Jack Wilshere ticks all the boxes and is destined to become one of the worlds best midfielders according to his hero Steven Gerrard – now that is a compliment.
The Englishman made his comeback to the international stage last year after his cameo appearance against Sweden in a friendly, however he is now set to make his first start for the Three Lions since June 2011.
The Arsenal star has been in inspirational form since returning from a massive spell on the sidelines that saw him miss the entirety of last season, and Liverpool skipper Gerrard, who will start alongside the 21-year-old tonight has praised Wilshere’s form and ability that could see him become a world beater.
Jack’s got a bit of everything: he can tackle, pass, get up and down the pitch, create or score a goal. He ticks every box, and he’s going to get better and better. He’s only 21 and a fantastic talent, and we’re delighted he’s back.
He has the potential to become one of the best in the world. I don’t want to put any pressure on him, but having played against him recently and seen him in training, he’s a one-off. He’s a lot better than your normal Premier League midfielder.
England manager Roy Hodgson has also praised the Arsenal youngster however has made it clear that England’s expectations shouldn’t rest on Wilshere’s shoulders and the entire national team has something to offer.
But Gerrard’s compliments are a huge confidence booster for the talisman who is developing into an all round class act. He is starting to add goals to his game like the incredible volley against Swansea and is creating plenty of goal scoring chances for his team mates. Paired with Cazorla, Arsenal’s midfield is starting to look as strong as it has for some time, Wenger really has found a gem and the best part of his personality is his commitment to the Gunners.
I’m sure I will not be alone when I cross my fingers hoping for an injury-free fruitful performance from Wilshere against Brazil, he is the key to Champions League qualification and silverware this season.
