Arsene Wenger has made plenty of headlines with his fiery reactions to questions during the Bayern Munich pre-match press conference, with the Frenchman defending himself and his side after their Blackburn FA Cup loss and false contract talks.
The Frenchman responded abruptly to talk relating to the weekends Cup exit, choosing to clarify the difference between the illustrious European competition and the domestic Cup.
The conference then took a turn for the worst when the fed up Wenger was angered by false information relating to his own contract talks with the Gunners (3 min 40 sec).
Wenger fumed when asked whether he was about to sign a new two-year contract:
This is wrong information. I have worked for 16 years here in England and I deserve a bit more credit that giving out wrong information that only has one intention, which is to harm.
If it is good information, it’s alright, but this is wrong information and comes from nowhere. It is wrong. I don’t know where the information comes from.
The Frenchman then tried to refocus the conference and avoid questions about the Blackburn match, Bayern’s preparation and defence – choosing to focus on his side and their focus on the massive fixture.
Mikel Arteta then took the reigns for a while discussing their readiness and also their recent notorious slow start before the reporters turned back to the main man under the spot light – Mr Wenger.
One of his later lashes was a response to the questions as to whether he wants to end the eight year trophy drought (10 min 30 sec), where he responded sarcastically:
I want to lose it and I want to lose the game tomorrow so you can all be happy.
