On-loan Arsenal misfit Nicklas Bendtner is attracting interest from various Russian clubs according to his agent, and the Danish striker will consider a move if a Champions League grade side makes an enticing offer.
The 25-year-old joined Juventus on a season long loan from the Gunners after spending time with Sunderland the season prior, but has failed to impress in Italy after being handed limited appearances and a likely season-ending injury in December.
He has also recently been banned from representing the Danish national team for six months after receiving drink-driving charges that has done little to help his credentials as a top class footballer.
But as always the self-titled ‘World’s-greatest-striker’ is still demanding Champions League football and may head to Russia to find it with some of their top clubs interested.
His agent Tom Brooks revealed to Russian newspaper Izvestia:
We’ve had contact several times with Russian teams.
Interest has also been shown by English and Italian clubs and Nicklas would like to play regularly in the Champions League.
A large number of talented players have gone to Russia in recent years. If a solid proposal arrives, we will consider it.
The most important thing for the Gunners is to get the train wreck off the books. Despite his impressive showings for his national side over the past couple of years he has done little to further his career with his rebellious attitude consistently landing the striker in trouble. Hopefully a Russian side offers a sizable fee for the ‘Great’ Dane this summer and then that will be that!
