The Gunners may face Everton on Tuesday night without the services of their inform goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, however Tomas Rosicky is fit to participate and Per Mertesacker returns from suspension.
There will be plenty of question marks over Wenger’s first team selection ahead of the vital tie at Emirates Stadium this week especially over who will start between the sticks. Fabianski has been a ‘keeper reborn this year after his successful comeback, knocking Wojiech Szczesny off the mantle, and the younger Pole has even been absent from the bench recently with Vito Mannone chosen as the backup.
Captain Thomas Vermaelen was restored to the lineup against Norwich with Mertesacker suspended after his red card against West Brom, and while he played well the Gunners missed the tall German’s aerial presence. The centre half pairing will be a tough decision.
In midfield Jack Wilshere also returned in place of Rosicky who had been in inspirational form prior to his absence at the weekend, however now the Czech international is fit once again he should be restored to his favoured attacking midfield position, possibly placing Ramsey’s place in jeopardy for Wilshere.
