Lukas Podolski believes that visiting the Club’s fans around the world is a crucial part of the modern game.Arsenal set off on the Asia Tour next month and will take part in sponsorship events, training sessions and matches in Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan.
Podolski who joined Arsenal last season is looking forward to the trip and says it is essential for the club to reach out for the Club’s passionate supporters in the region.
According to Arsenal official website ,he said :
I’m very excited. I went before when I was with Bayern Munich, and this will be my first time with Arsenal. I am very happy because the people there are crazy about Arsenal and football!
When you arrive at the airport there are a lot of young fans there. They are so happy that you are there and I am very happy to go there.
Here in London we don’t have fans at training but over there we will have open sessions and play some matches, so the fans are close.
They never [get to] see us up close so it is very important to go there, train and play matches in front of them – and also pose for pictures and sign some autographs.
It is crucial [to go to see] the fans who support us a lot on Twitter, Facebook or other platforms.
Podolski’s first EPL season can be measured as a success. Leaving the Bundesliga for a new league, he has nearly matched his goal production from 2011/12, as well as helped carry his new side to Champions League football for another year. If you were to measure Podolski’s season strictly on the domestic narrative you would rate this year as one of the best of Podolski’s career.
While he is the most substituted player on Arsenal (being substituted off 22 times), he has been on Arsene Wenger’s match sheet constantly and has been a consistent contributor in all competitions. Playing on the left wing, as he most often does for the national team, Podolski has linked up well with Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud with an 84% pass success rate and 11 assists, highlighting his contributions in the passing game.
It appears that Podolski has discovered new-found success in his club career, for the first time since his failed stint at Bayern. At Arsenal, Podolski is on one of the most popular clubs in Europe and he is thriving in the role.
