Tomas Rosicky has backed striker Olivier Giroud to bring his rich scoring form into the Premier League this season and build on last campaign’s tally.
The Frenchman has netted six goals in the three games while on the 2013 Asia Tour and while it is just pre-season Rosicky feels his goal tally will help to build Giroud’s confidence ahead of his second season with the Gunners.
The Czech midfielder feels Giroud has adapted well to English life and will develop on a promising debut campaign in the Premier League.
Rosicky told Arsenal’s official website:
When you come to England it can be difficult in the first season because you have to settle and get used to it.
So I expect him to have a better season than he did last year, and I believe he can score more than he did then. If he continues with how he has played in pre-season, then why not?

Well it is only pre-season, and even though we won the games, it doesn’t mean much. But on the other side, goals always give strikers confidence, whenever they score them. Olly started very well and we know he has great qualities which he showed last season.
Giroud scored 17 times in all competitions last season ending the campaign as Arsenal’s second top scorer. With speculation surrounding the acquisition of a big name striker the tall French international will have to be on his game to push for more game time.
Wenger recently declared his admiration for the striker which is hardly surprising after some excellent finishes while on tour, and he will be a very important player this season. He brings an aerial presence to both our offence and defence while adding some physicality to our attack too. So while the Gunners may (still remains a big question mark) bring in a top name striker, Giroud will still be an instrumental member of the team as he provides options so hopefully he can push on and bring this fine pre-season form back to England.
