Arsenal have reportedly agreed to give Nicklas Bendtner a big pay off which could see him join the Premier League newcomer Crystal Palace, according to Reports in Mirror.
Bendtner has not been able to get a club due to his wage demand. The Dane has been courted by the likes of Crystal palace, Hull Malaga and Freiburg but his salary has been a major issue.
However the report stated that Arsenal have agreed to a stunning £3 million pay-off to get Bendtner off the books. Bendtner earns £55,000 a week at Arsenal and will not leave without the agreement in place. It could mean the 25-year-old would be willing to move across London to Crystal Palace, who are said to be ready to pay him £25,000-a-week, because his wages would be subsidised by the pay-out.
Crystal Palace are now favorites to sign him and have already signed another Arsenal player Marouane Chamakh in the summer. Bendtner was out of Arsenal picture for two consecutive seasons, plying his trades elsewhere on loan and is finally set to end his miserable time at the club. Although West Bromwich Albion and Hull have also expressed their interest to sign him up, but it seems he will be heading to another London club by the end of the day.
Arsene Wenger has earlier revealed that he could keep the striker if he is unable to find a club. But with talks currently on to sign Chelsea’s Demba Ba on loan, Bendtner might just have to move. Bendtner joined the club as an youngster with great potential but the Dane seems to suffer from a wildly inflated ego which was probably bolstered by his weekly salary of £50,000.
