It is common knowledge Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis have really ballsed up Arsenal’s transfer window this summer after a number of failed attempts to bring in a top class forward.
Gonzalo Higuain was almost a done deal, until the Gunners pulled out of negotiations to pursue a confusing clause in Luis Suarez’s contract meaning Napoli were able to swoop in and secure Higuain.
Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye has been subject to a bid from his compatriot Wenger which was labelled as ‘derisory’, while Luis Gustavo chose a mid table Bundesliga side over joining Arsenal. Not all of these stories are 100% accurate, but regardless this summer has been a joke with just two players joining the squad for free after an insane list of 24 Arsenal players leaving the club. Nicklas Bendtner may even play a part in Arsenal’s season after a mixture of struggling to find a new club, Arsenal unable to bring in a top class striker and injuries ruling out backup forward Lukas Podolski.
So to cheer us up, the geniuses at Gunnerblog have created a hilarious video of Arsenal’s transfer window so far (up to this morning)! Let’s hope there is some actual money spent today.. Ozil would be nice.
The video parody of Macklemore’s hit ‘Thrift Shop’ to commemorate Arsenal’s spectacularly frugal transfer window of summer 2013. Features the vocal talents of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis.
