The 24-year-old Germany international joined the Gunners from Real Madrid on deadline day for a club record fee of £42.4 million.
The attacking midfielder says he is determined to make a major impact with the Gunners while he also suggested that the Gunners have the resources to break their eight-year trophy drought.
Speaking to Talk Sport, he said:
I want to improve myself further and I am looking forward to the style of play. Arsenal are well known for the strength of their technical game and their desire to play attacking football. I think I will fit perfectly into that. That is why I chose to sign for the club.
In the last few years, Arsenal haven’t been so successful, but we want to become more successful.
We want to win trophies. I think the fans are looking forward to that too.

We have a very strong and a very young team that can improve a lot under the manager. I think we will win trophies because we have the potential.
Ozil admits he is relishing the prospect of working under Wenger and believes the Frenchman’s style of play will help him settle quickly into life in the Premier League. He added:
I am the sort of player that likes to create goals. I think a lot of my team-mates know me as a player who is not selfish.
It makes me very happy when I create goals or score goals myself, but the most important thing is that the team reaches its goal and plays positive football.
I want to prove myself there. It is a new challenge for me, a new task.
I am looking forward to that. I want to improve further under the boss and in the team. I am really excited about it.
I am so happy to be playing at Arsenal. I am honored by it. I hope we can have a successful season.
The German midfielder joined Madrid from Werder Bremen for a fee of around £12.4 million in August 2010 after shining in Germany’s run to the semi-finals at that year’s World Cup in South Africa. . He scored 10 goals and set up his team mates 18 times from 51 matches for the Bernabeu team last season while scoring 14 goals for the national team in 47 appearances.
Ozil is an intelligent player both on and off the ball, his movement, passing and finishing makes him a nightmare for the opposition teams. He is just 24 years old and has a chance to be one of the best in the world at his position and will add more creativeness to the team which already has the likes of Cazorla, Rosicky and Ramsey.
Even though midfield is our strongest point we have missed a player in the mould of Fabregas who can make those inch-perfect passes through the opposition defense and this is what we will get from Ozil and he is definitely an upgrade on the Spaniard.
Will Ozil be enough to end our trophy drought, only time will tell. A striker would have done no harm to Arsenal’s chances of winning but still the acquisition of the German will give the team confidence and belief to compete for the title which we have been missing from past few years.
