The 26-year-old poacher actually managed 17 goals last year in his debut season, but many fans still campaigned heavily for manager Arsene Wenger to sign a new forward this summer.
Giroud has scored in all four of Arsenal’s Premier League games so far, making him joint top scorer alongside Aston VIlla’s Christian Benteke.
The Frenchman believes that a star studded Arsenal midfield will provide a consistent supply line this season, allowing him to fight for the Golden Boot if he can stay fit and firing.
According to Sky Sports, he said:
I must have a chance.
I feel good and, with these players giving me chances, it has to be a possibility.

That is something I aimed to achieve when I joined Arsenal. Now that we have Mesut Ozil, it can get even better.
Giroud has already scored almost half of the Premier League goals he scored through the whole 2012/13 season, and its looking like he will also better his last season’s tally of 17 goals in all competitions. Robin van Persie has recently monopolized the award having won it the last two years and, with three goals already this season he is looking a strong candidate to win a third in a row.
The Frenchman will definitely benefit from Mesut Ozil, who made an immediate impact in his first game for Arsenal in the club’s 3-1 away win over Sunderland on Saturday. Ozil set-up Giroud for Arsenal’s first goal and also played a key part in setting up Aaron Ramsey’s 3rd goal which finished off the Black Cats.
It’s evident from the first few games that his link up play has improved greatly. Playing as a lone striker it was that part of his game where he’s been having to work the hardest on. The 26-year old is also scoring a number of his goals with his first touch, which only suggests his confidence in his own ability is growing, and his movement is getting even better that he doesn’t need an extra touch to set himself up for a goal scoring opportunity.
However i think it’s too early to jump on conclusions on whether he can continue the early season form through the whole season but it’s definitely a good start that can eventually take him there. He should also continue to maintain his physical fitness if he wants get his hands on the golden boot, but with abundance of talent with the likes of Ozil,Wilshere,Cazorla and Ramsey behind him it doesn’t look that hard of a task.
What do you say Gunners?
