Arsenal are reportedly keeping close tabs on coveted Barcelona wide man Pedro as doubts continue to surround the Spaniard’s long term future at Camp Nou, according to reports in Daily Express.
The 26 year old has started 15 matches in all competitions this term and has scored 14 goals and provided four assists including a hat trick against Getafe in La Liga on Sunday.
The Spanish international has admitted that despite being happy at Barca, he would have to consider his future if his playing time did not improve. He said:
I am happy with Barcelona, but things have to be evaluated every season.
When you play less you do not feel less important, but it is true that you notice playing fewer minutes and it is different.
But I must fight for my only goal, which is to continue with Barca.
Pedro has been with the Spanish giants for his whole career to date, making his debut for the club back in the 2008-09 campaign under then head coach Pep Guardiola. During this period the skilful winger has gone on to find the back of the net on 82 occasions in just 240 matches in all competitions for Barcelona, including an equally impressive 47 strikes in 148 La Liga outings for the club.
However he has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth in the La Liga champions line up and there are still huge question marks over whether the player will be at the club come this time next season. His current contract with the Catalunya giants will run out in June 2016.

He has all the classic qualities of a winger as he’s quick, loves to play short passes and one-twos, he can take on defenders, his crossing is absolutely pin-point and he’s very strong on the ball as well. He can drift inside, capable of playing on either flank and has started five La Liga games on the right-wing, and four on the left-wing, an illustration of his versatility, and this is why he would be a useful acquisition for Arsenal.
He is a world class talent and has just been over shadowed by the arrival of Neymar and the resurgence of Alexis Sanchez this season. It appears we have a very good chance of signing him as the World Cup is just around the corner and he will surely be considering his options.
The Gunners possess two frustrated forwards in Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott who want to play up front and signing Pedro would allow one of them to play inside, and become the Giroud alternative they want to be. He would be a great signing for Arsenal and will also bring the winning mentality to the side in their bid to add to the trophy cabinet.
