So Arsenal draw the champions of Europe!
Its never easy being an Arsenal fan, and knowing that beating or drawing with Napoli in the final game of the group stages could have put us up against the likes of Olympiacos, Zenit or Galatasaray doesn’t ease the pain.
But, if we are going to challenge for the grand prize that is the Champions League title, then we have to beat the best. Don’t we?
I would put our current squad up against any team in Europe, and still believe we can go forward.

Many years of Champions League departure anguish, surely there has to be a year when we say “we can do this.”
Losing koscielny for a number of weeks could prove to be a disaster. But I personally believe in the club captains’ ability to step in and show what he can do.
Some regular game time for him will reignite his hunger (hopefully) and get us back on track.
Although I do hope Wenger dips into this “war chest” and reinforces the defence with a suitable CB and RB.
Sagna is having a great season, and current speculation of negotiations bodes well for Arsenal. But I don’t feel we have good enough quality to back him up if he happens to be absent.
Also, we have 3 CB’s I would be comfortable with on the field, but adding a fourth will give us the depth we need to compete for silverware this year.
The midfield is packed with an abundance of talent, arguably the best in the league. So no problems there.
But I feel Giroud does need back up to give the guy a rest. If he gets injured what’s plan B? Bendtner? No thankyou.
But does Arsene need to delve into the transfer market for this position?
We already have a fantastic striker in Lukas Podolski, waiting in the shadows. I know he does play well on the LW but we have enough world class midfield players to rotate into the LW position and free up Lukas to give Giroud a well needed rest. Also the option of Theo Walcott up top, when our entire midfield is fit, isn’t a bad shout.
So we do have striking options already, backing up this defence could well be the answer!
