According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have made contact with Barcelona over the possibility of signing Cristian Tello on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
Arsene Wenger went to see the youngster in action last week where he netted a hat-trick against Levante, and is reportedly high on the Frenchman’s wishlist for deadline day.
With the Julian Draxler case up in the air, the Barcelona winger could represent a like for like replacement for crocked Theo Walcott who will spend the remainder of the campaign on the sidelines through injury.
Sportsmail’s Sami Mokbel reported:
Arsenal are trying take Cristian Tello from Barcelona today. Contact has been made with the Spanish giants over loan for the rest of the season.
Barca have shown a reluctance to let Tello go, but Arsenal aren’t giving up. As it stands, Tello and Julian Draxler will be the Gunners’ two main focuses of the day.
The Spanish giants will be reluctant to let the 22-year-old leave as they push for silverware on all fronts, however he will be more likely to gain more first team experience with the north London club who share a similar footballing philosophy.
Fingers crossed something comes off here, the Gunners could do with another injection of pace and a bit more depth out wide with such an intense fixture list on the horizon.
