The most important aspect of this team is team work. There is no stand out player and even though our most expensive signing is not performing to the levels we expect from him, the rest of the players have stepped up and covered for him. For this reason, it seems unfair to target one player especially as the whole team played extremely badly at Anfield but one player who seems to be bringing disharmony to the team is Bacary Sagna.
Sagna is starting to become a weak link at Arsenal. Attackers seem to be getting a lot of joy down his flank. He is not able to prevent dangerous crosses that leave our defence exposed, cannot keep up with opposing pacy wingers, and his crosses to Giroud never reach their target. Most of the time, they don’t even get past the first defender and go out for a corner. So basically he is not contributing defensively or in an attacking sense.
Then of course there is the issue of his contract. Even Wenger seems to be getting frustrated by the whole issue. Wenger wants to sort out contract issues to concentrate on the title challenge but Sagna’s stance shows a lack of commitment to the cause.

Like I said earlier, I would rather not concentrate on an individual in the team as they all performed badly but in this case, Wenger needs to recall Jenkinson. While Jenkinson is still learning his trade, he is still a very good attacking outlet as shown by his cross to Bendtner in the game vs. Hull in the 2nd min. Defensively I don’t see him doing a worse job than Sagna.
Wenger needs to bench Sagna to get the best out of him and any other under-performing player like Ozil. Sagna needs to know that he is not indispensable and always perform to the level expected of him. We have thirteen games to go in the Premier League and cannot afford any slip ups like what happened to Liverpool.
All I can say is good luck to the gunners! They need it.
