Arsene Wenger has confirmed the Gunners have reached an agreement with Tomas Rosicky and his representatives to extended his stay at Arsenal.
The 33-year-old has spent eight years in north London and with his current deal set to expire this summer, Gooners alike have been hoping for an extension to fruition,
Although the official confirmation is yet to be announced, the Gunners boss has confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the playmaker and Wenger’s “absolutely adamant” Rosicky must remain at the club.
The Frenchman reportedly revealed:
Tomas Rosicky will stay. We have an agreement with him and it will come out soon.
I am absolutely adamant he has to stay at the club.
The Czech attacking midfielder re illustrated his ability during Saturday’s 4-1 win over Sunderland, filling in for rested/”injured” Mesut Ozil.

He scored a spectacular team goal that helped seal the victory and continued to work hard throughout the tie, often gaining momentum in attacks with his bursts. Wenger feels Rosicky has come a long way since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2006, and has developed the ability to orchestrate team attacks and inspire the ‘Arsenal way’ of quick pass and move football.
He is maybe one of the players who plays the game of give and move, is a great accelerator of the game.
When the ball comes to him it is ‘boof’. It is second gear now and that is something I admire in him.
He makes always things happen, not with individual dribbling but with individual acceleration of his passing and of his runs.
It’s great news that the Gunners have secured Rosicky for at least another season. His role is somewhat bit-part, however as he continually suffers with injuries it is good he is not continually under pressure to start games and play 90 minutes.
When he is called upon however he adds experience, tactical nous and hard work to the midfield and is a very versatile player. He’s an extremely dedicated footballer and Arsenal are very fortunate to have a player of his calibre among our ranks.
Great news, next up Sagna please 😉
