It must be a sad day to be an Arsenal fan after such a heavy loss. It speaks volumes when the manager avoids a press conference. The question is who to blame, the manager or the players? I honestly blame the players and the truth of the matter is Wenger cannot keep making excuses for them. There are no excuses we can come up with anyway. It does not matter that we got a red card as we were already losing by two goals and Chelsea was already dominating the game.
However as painful as the loss may be, it is important to keep things in perspective. The title is still within our grasp. As Wenger pointed out, no matter how heavy the loss it is still only three points that we need to claw back. Yes it is a massive setback but if we win our game in hand, we will be four points behind Chelsea and considering the fact that Chelsea and Manchester City still have to play Liverpool, we can definitely gain ground on them. There is just no more room for error.
Arsenal need to win their game in hand against Swansea and win it convincingly to boost the confidence of the players and also give the fans the belief that they can go ahead and win the Premier League.
The game against Manchester City will be at the Emirates and it will be our chance to get our revenge on the loss we suffered at the Ettihad Stadium. If we win these two games, I believe we can win the title.
As hard as it is to believe it right now, the title race is far from over. Chelsea’s loss to Aston Villa showed just how unpredictable the Premier League can be and there are most twists and turns to come. This is the time Arsenal usually go on an unbeaten run and they need to do that more than ever. Let’s just hope our loss to Chelsea is not irreversible.
