The Gunners booked their place in the semi-finals of the competition with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Everton at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, and are now hot favourites with Wigan knocking out Manchester City.
Parlour, who won the FA Cup four times during his time with the club, believes this season represents their best chance in years of winning some silverware.
According to Talk Sport, he said:
Arsenal have a fantastic chance now.
It was a great result against Everton. They played very well. Mesut Ozil got his goal and played really well, which everyone was hoping for, that will give him some confidence.
With Sunday’s shock, Wigan beating Man City, it gives them a very good opportunity. Wigan are a very good side this year. Uwe Rosler has got them playing very well. You have to fancy Arsenal now though, especially at Wembley. It’s a big pitch and I think they’ve got a great chance.
Arsenal’s hopes of winning the trophy was given a huge boost as Manchester City were beaten 2-1 by Championship side Wigan Athletic on Sunday to set up a clash with the Gunners.
The Gunners have the ability to beat all other three teams left in the competition and it will surely only be their own complacency that may see them fail to win their 11th FA Cup. The North London side haven’t exactly had an easy road to Wembley as they have knocked out three of the Premier League’s best teams in Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Everton.
Wigan will again be underdogs at Wembley in the semi final against Arsenal, but they will be a very dangerous underdog. Arsenal will have to be at their best and play a strong team to get the win to bring them back to Wembley again for the final.
The FA Cup offers them a very real prospect of ending our fateful drought this season after nine long years without a trophy. We are still in the hunt for the Premier League title but are now seven points behind Chelsea with a game in hand and 10 games to go. It would be great to have a trophy to defend next season as Arsenal move forward again and attempt to add to their tally of league titles.
