Real Madrid are readying a huge summer bid for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and are prepared to sell striker Karim Benzema to Arsenal to help fund the move, according to the Express.
Arsenal and Benzema have been heavily linked together for a number of seasons including last summer and it appears this transfer window will be no different.
The Gunners are in the hunt for an established centre forward and could capitalize on another Madrid big money spend as they did with the Mesut Ozil-Gareth Bale situation last year.
It is thought that president Florentino Perez eyes an incredible frontline of Suarez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale, but it will take potentially another record breaking fee to secure the Uruguay international’s signature after an incredible season at Liverpool where he’s played a vital part in their title challenging campaign.
Arsenal courted Suarez themselves last summer, launching an infamous £40m plus £1 bid and now he will be worth double that after netting an impressive 30 goals this season despite missing the first six games through suspension. There’s no hope he would consider a switch to north London now, but some good can still come from him should he consider a move to the Spanish giants.

Benzema has often divided Madrid fans in opinion however he is undoubtedly a world class talent and an excellent finisher. He could add speed and agility to Arsenal’s frontline while with his contract set to expire in 2015, the Gunners could negotiate a decent price for the French international.
He may not be Diego Costa, but there are going to be limited strikers available this summer and if Real Madrid go for Suarez, Arsenal should do everything we can to get the Uruguayan off our shores which includes bringing in Benzema to kick start a transfer merry-go-round. Sounds a little FIFA 14-esk, but it’s been done before.
