Highly rated Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen looks destined for a move away from the Bundesliga outfit however it’s almost certain he will not be joining Barcelona this summer thanks to the transfer ban handed to the La Liga giants.
With injured Victor Valdes set to leave Catalonia at the end of this campaign with his contract expiring, Ter Stegen was to be his successor with terms reportedly agreed between the clubs.
Barca are now unable to buy anyone for the next two transfer windows (unless their ban is overturned after their appeal), and despite his proposed future clubs position the Germany goalkeeper has confirmed he’s leaving Borussia regardless.
According to Goal, Ter Stegen told Kolner Express:
I haven’t heard anything about it and I don’t know why are you asking me now.
I don’t want to talk about it. I will definitely leave Borussia Monchengladbach in summer.
Arsenal are in need of a classy stopper this summer with Lukasz Fabianski set to leave Emirates on a free transfer leaving Wojciech Szczesny the only senior goalkeeper at the club.

In Ter Stegen you have an exciting shot stopper who is seeking the next step in his career and someone that can push Szczesny for the number one spot. Arsenal need a new goalkeeper, do you think the 21-year-old Borussia stopper is the one to fill the void?
My main reservation is his age, but as a regular first team keeper and a capped Germany international, he has amazing potential.
