Wigan Athletic v Arsenal
FA Cup Semi Final
Kick off: April 11, 2014 5:07 PM BST
Arsenal have arguably their most important game this season on Saturday and will have a very thin squad to choose from.
Wenger revealed some difficult news in his Thursday press conference, The Ox, Rosicky and Gibbs are all 50/50 with their respective knocks. Luckily Aaron Ramsey is fit to start and will come in for the suspended Mathieu Flamini.
Lukasz Fabianski will definitely start in goal with Thomas Vermaelen and Per Mertesacker ahead of him, leaving Nacho Monreal on the left and Bacary Sagna on the right. If Wigan decide to exploit their right flank like Everton and Chelsea before them, we’re in for a long night. The Monreal/Vermaelen and Podolski axis is a liability but unfortunately it will most likely be on show once again. I think we have to give Monreal a slight break, he’s only just returned from injury and was understandably rusty. Hopefully after another weeks training he should be on the ball.
So in central midfield we will almost definitely see Arteta and Ramsey reunited for their first start together since December, while a question mark looms over who will start in the attacking midfield role. Rosicky remains a doubt while Santi appears the favorite. Ramsey is also another option with Kallstrom slotting in behind.

On the wings you would expect The Ox to start if fit or else Serge Gnabry on the left to allow Santi to play as the No10 behind the striker. Podolski looks certain to play on the left with no other real options available. While the defensive side of his game leaves a lot to be desire, offensively he was our most dangerous player in the first half against Everton.
Olivier Giroud will be the likely choice up top but the Frenchman is struggling for form. That said he’s scored five goals in three games in the FA Cup so he may well be up for it. Yaya Sanogo represents the only other option which hardly inspires confidence.
Here is our most likely predicted lineup:
Sagna Merts Verm Gibbs
The Ox/Gnabry Podolski
