What if Kim Kallstrom turns out to be our saviour of the season? I remember as he walked forward to take his penalty in the game against Wigan, he was smiling broadly. That says a lot about his confidence in his ability which showed as he dispatched the penalty nonchalantly. He looks likes he is just biding his time to show how good he is and he is not going to rush Arsene Wenger into a decision to make him play.
There has been talk about Arsenal players been dead on their feet with injuries really taking their toll. The good news is key players will be fit by the end of this month. Koscielny, Ozil, and Wilshere will all be back. Even the forgotten Abou Diaby has been taking part in training sessions. Everything is starting to look all rosy for Arsenal. There is only one hiccup. How long before the aforementioned players have a substantial impact on proceedings on the pitch and who will cover for them before then?
The player I believe can provide ample cover and do a fantastic job is Kim Kallstrom. Of course this is all based on hearsay and rumors. Kallstrom might end up been a worse signing than Squillaci and Silvestre. Then again, what do we have to lose? We shall find out soon enough as there are rumors Kallstrom will be in the starting line up against West Ham and our old foe in Big Sam Allardyce. Kallstrom has a point to prove especially with all the flak he received from Arsenal fans during his transfer. Say what you will about Arsene Wenger but he has a knack for discovering players and turning them into world class players. Who will be surprised if Kallstrom turns out to be our signing of the season? Now that I have hyped up Kallstrom, I hope he will not let me down.
Arsenal have really let us down this season especially when it matters the most and we cannot tell which Arsenal is going to show up. The one that can blow teams away with breathtaking football (Anyone remember when that last happened), the one that scrapes through with a win, or the one that gets blown away. I hope the game against Wigan is the turning point that gets back to winning ways but I am not holding my breath. Still, it would be good to see the team in fourth place, holding the FA cup at the end of the season.
