Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion
Barclays Premier League
Kick off: May 4, 2014 1.30 PM BST
Arsenal, securing fourth spot thanks to Everton’s loss on Saturday, claimed all three points in a relatively straight forward win over the Baggies. West Brom had some half-chances but the Gunners should have finished them off well and truly beyond the match winner provided by Olivier Giroud.
The Gunners had a slim chance to gain third should Chelsea lose after their game on Sunday afternoon. The Blues dropped points and essentially are out the title race with a draw, however the vast gulf in goal difference between the two London sides means Chelsea must lose and Arsenal win by 17-18 odd goals on the final day. Maybe in some distant parallel universe eh…
