The 20 year old, who scored in the World Cup win over Uruguay in Brazil, has yet to play for the Gunners following his move to the club in 2011 after loan spells at Lorient, Real Betis and Olympiacos.
His performances for his national team in the World Cup have led to increased speculation surrounding his future, but the striker says he is ready to return to the Emirates next season.
According to the Mirror, he said:
I believe I’ll be returning to Arsenal for next season.
It’s been a beautiful World Cup for Costa Rica. It’s gone very well. Qualifying first in a very difficult group is important, but now we have to focus on the last 16.
We weren’t concerned about who we got drawn against in the first round, we were simply pleased to be there, but now we are determined to go further.
The youngster signed for Arsenal in 2011, but failure to secure a work permit meant that the Costa Rican was forced to play out on loan. However, after three loan spells, it looks like the time is certainly ripe for the forward to flourish at the Emirates.

His performances against the experienced Uruguayan defenders showed that he is certainly up for it. Although, he didn’t score in the other 2 games, he was a constant thorn in the Italian defence with his pace and power. In just 3 games, he has managed to win the hearts of many all over the world, thanks to performances for Costa Rica.
Campbell’s abilities allow him to be a flexible player who can play through the flanks or as a forward; in either position he delivers good results. His pace, power and his movement on and off the ball makes him an ineluctable goal threat and one that would immeasurably increase Arsenal’s attacking pedigree. With Joel Campbell on the roster, we will have another option in the last third of the pitch, making the club less dependent on Giroud.
