The French international, who spent the last season on-loan at Newcastle United, scored 14 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions. He has recently made it clear that he does not want to stay with Queens Park Rangers and aims to play in the Champions League again.
The report suggests that Arsenal are confident of completing a deal thanks to the rumoured £8 million clause in the Frenchman’s contract.
It further states that the signing of Remy will be part of a double striker swoop, as the North London club are looking to bring in two forwards this summer, with the likes of Mario Balotelli, Mario Mandzukic and Alexis Sanchez linked with a move.
The striker has been linked with Arsenal for some time now and is reportedly stalling on his future as he’s holding out for a Gunners move to follow in the foot-steps of his idol Henry. QPR are also looking to offload the Frenchman to ease their financial woes.
The French striker has superb acceleration, likes to make runs off the shoulders of defenders and his pace means he finds himself in a lot of one-on-one situations with the opposing goalkeeper. He’s not bad in the air too, as quite a few of the goals he scores are with his head while he can play anywhere across the front three.

The Gunners have struggled for depth up front last season and signing Remy would give the Gunners exactly what they need. He would allow Wenger to rest Giroud and still leave his team with a great target man and someone more than capable of finishing what the midfield creates in behind.
He knows the league well and will hit the ground running unlike strikers from other countries who might take some time to adapt. His signing wouldn’t break the bank for the North London club and would still allow them to pursue one more quality striker over the summer window. Signing Remy will be an excellent piece of business and I would be delighted if we can bring Sanchez too along with the Frenchman.
