Arsenal’s move for Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy’s is set to be confirmed “imminently”, according to ESPN, with the arrival of Feyenoord full-back Daryl Janmaat now set in stone.
The France international Debuchy has already confirmed he was set to link up with compatriot Arsene Wenger this summer, however the Alexis Sanchez deal has been the only official announcement so far.
It was thought Newcastle were holding off giving the green light for the transfer of the 28-year-old until they sorted a replacement, but now the arrival of the Holland international is confirmed, the formalities should be sorted very quickly.
Debuchy will come in as a direct replacement for the departed Bacary Sagna, who joined Manchester City on a free transfer after his contract expired with the north London club.
The move should hopefully be official via Arsenal.com in the next few days. Good news.
