Arsene Wenger has confirmed that both Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta are out injured and are unavailable. Ramsey will be out for over a month and Arteta for approximately three weeks.
All is not doom and gloom though, Jack Wilshere is fit and is in the squad for tomorrow’s clash against the Turks.
Wenger told Arsenal.com:
On Ramsey and Arteta:
To be generous with time, let’s say four weeks. If all goes well, three. After the international break hopefully he will not be far away. Sometimes the international break is welcome! It is the same for Arteta, [he will come back] a bit quicker maybe.
Despite Wilshere’s availability, Wenger remains cautious:
Wilshere is in the squad for tomorrow. Will I start him? I don’t know yet but he’s in the squad.
Walcott and Gnabry will be in full training next week and once Theo returns we will be a different proposition. However losing Ramsey and Arteta is a big blow and the whole team has to step it up if we are to get a positive result against Galatasaray and Chelsea. Let’s hope we do the job tomorrow and face Chelsea in a positive frame of mind.
On the flip side the situation opens the door for the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rosicky and Podolski to impress the manager.
