Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta has spoken out about his new teammate, and how the Chilean has a strong work ethic.
The captain, recently recovered from an injury, revealed that he was impressed by the dedication and passion shown by Sanchez during training sessions; the player apparently even stayed back after training to complete his schedules.
The ex-Barcelona man has made an explosive start to his career at the Emirates, scoring two vital goals in his previous two games, an all important goal against Besiktas and another against Leicester City. Even then, Arteta believes that there is more to come from the 25 year old forward.
This is what Arteta had to say:
It was good to see Alexis on target once again at Leicester. He’s working really hard and is very enthusiastic. He always wants to do more in training and he wants to stay longer after the session has finished.
He’s the type of player that wants to attack very, very quickly and he’s trying really hard to impress everyone. He’s trying all the right things to be a very important player for us, and I think he is already
Clearly the team believes that Sanchez can do something special. Let’s hope he can bring the goods today.
