After a harrowing defeat to Dortmund last week much of the blame was deflected onto Ozil and the long list of injuries haunting the team. The defeat saw bookies’ odds on Arsenal to win the Premiership drop to 12/1, odds are taken from Betfair and referrer promotion is not included.
Before going into the competition Jurgen Klopp, commented that Arsenal would be a tough opponent since the signing of ‘two outstanding players in Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez, who will give them [Arsenal] even more pace.’ But in reality, Dortmund ran harder, faster and almost 11km more than the men from the Premier League.
However, after Saturdays win against Aston Villa, it looks like the gunners are back on form and Wenger’s decision to continuously have faith in Ozil paid off, after the £42million players’ performance shined through the match with one goal and one assist after just 1 minute and 19 seconds into the match.
Danny Welbeck, who missed several good chances against Man City and Dortmund, finally scored his first goal with the Gunners. The forward also completed some excellent passes and his pace caused serious problems for the Villa side.

Welbeck has played just 3 matches with the Gunners, but there was a clear friendship and connection between Welbeck and Ozil that could of immense advantage to the team’s quest. As Ozil returned to his favored number 10 role, he and Welbeck were in perfect Sync for the first two goals.
With Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez and Ozil up front, Arsenal now arguably have one of the fastest and skillful attacking forces in the Premiership.
The Gunners next league match will stand as the test for the trio as Arsenal moves into third place on the table just behind Chelsea and Aston Villa.
