The war between Arsenal and Chelsea for Brazilian forward Anderson Talisca is continuing, as both the London clubs are doing their best to sign the youngster, according to latest reports.
The attacking midfielder is the top goal scorer in the Portuguese League, with six goals so far, and Arsenal are about to beat their local rivals to midfielder’s signature.
Arsene Wenger sent scouts to monitor his performance three times and is said to have already begun negotiations with the Brazilian’s agent in regards to a possible English Premier League switch. The manager was particularly impressed by the Brazilian’s performances in the Champions League.
He was also a top target for Chelsea during the summer after he left his previous club, but due to permit problems, he was forced to sign a five year deal with his current side, Benefica. The Gunners are reportedly ready to offer up to £17million to secure the services of the Brazilian, a sum other clubs may choose not to match.
With Lukas Podolski still considering his future at the Emirates, Wenger could use this as his motivation to sign an adequate replacement. Also with Ozil out of the side, bolstering our attacking options is never a bad idea.
