As the January window gets closer, some big names are being linked to Arsenal. Wenger has promised to strengthen the squad over the window, and fans are expectantly speculating as to who the manager will choose to bring in.
Two of the names that have been linked with a move to the Emirates are Stephan Lichtsteiner and Pedro Rodriguez.
Stephan Lichtsteiner, the 30 year old Swiss international who plays for Italian Champions Juventus has reportedly been on Wenger’s radar for quite some time. The manager was attracted to him because of the wealth of experience he has in playing in the Champions League on a regular basis. The full back is in the last year of his contract, and may be available for a low price. Juventus are reportedly taking steps to replace him, so Arsenal may get their man without too much trouble.
If Lichtsteiner did join Arsenal in January however, he would be cup-tied for the Champions League, as he has already played in the competition this season for Juventus.
Another story says that Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez may be the target of a £25 million move to the Emirates in January. The Spaniard is reportedly unsettled at the club due to a lack of playing time and is upset that both Neymar and Luis Suarez are above him in the pecking order.

Youngster Munir al-Haddadi, another Arsenal target, has also featured on a more regular basis for the Catalans this season, and Pedro has decided that a transfer is the only solution. With promising talent Gerard Deulofeu also returning to Barcelona soon, Pedro will have serious competition for his place.
Arsenal were originally targeting Pedro in the summer, but the deal fell through and we chose to sign Alexis Sanchez instead. That has proven to be a brilliant purchase, and now Wenger is looking to bring in Pedro as well to add even more threat up front. If Podolski does choose to leave the Emirates, this transfer looks very likely.
