Hurrah! We won! Finally! And in typical Arsenal style, we fell behind, waited until the last minute of regular time to equailise and then went on to get the winner in injury time. Being a Gooner is not good for your heart…
But despite the euphoria of a much needed win, we cannot hide the fact that the Arsenal performance left much to be desired. For a team as superior as we were supposed to be, this was supposed to be a walk in the park. Instead, Anderlecht stretched us all the way to the finish line. In fact, I still can’t believe that we’ve actually won and got all three points. The prevailing mood on Twitter is also similar:
Merson spot on with his analysis. "This is Arsenal – you can't go to Anderlecht & put in a performance like that"

It tells you volumes of our condition when people are this happy to just see points:
Poor performance but three points is more important. #Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez, once again our hero. Where would we be this season without the Chilean?
Thank God, Alexis Sánchez never gave up!. We may have played poor but we needed that so bad. Thank you Gibbs and Podolski you both saved us.

Alexis is signing of the summer. Got Arsenal out of jail so many times already this season.

The stats do not make for pleasant reading:

2 – Arsenal's two goals vs Anderlecht were the final two shots of the game. Brinksmanship.

For a so called big team of Europe, the fact that Anderlecht matched us toe to toe is a worrying thing. The victory should help restore some much needed confidence in the side and now the Gunners need to start acting like a title challenging team. And something needs to be done about this chasing mentality we have! Arsenal players seem disinterested in the game unless we are losing and it is the last five minutes. Only then do they truly come alive.. Play with that level throughout the game lads, and no one can stop us.
This pretty much sums up Arsenal’s games lately:
Arsenal manages to make a comeback. Again. For the 356790421907421579 time
