Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has complimented his teammate Danny Welbeck following the striker’s hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Galatasaray in the Champions League.
The 23 year old bagged two goals inside the first 30 minutes before completing his treble early in the second half when Oxlade-Chamberlain set up the Englishman’s third.
The former Manchester United forward was criticised in the past for his below par performances, but Chamberlain feels that this is just the start of the things to come from the striker.
Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, he said:
It’s nice to see Welbz do so well. When he came to this club, I knew that the way we play football combined with his pace and his intelligent runs meant we’d find him a lot.
The boys did that tonight and I was really happy to assist him for his last goal. I think tonight was all about him. He did really well for us on and off the ball.
Welbeck opened the scoring in the first half with a smart finish before doubling his tally with a solo effort, displaying plenty of pace and power. Alexis Sanchez added a third just before half-time to effectively kill the match after 45 minutes and then Welbeck completed his hat-trick in the second half.

It was a brilliant performance from the youngster and although Galatasaray’s defending was poor, Welbeck was outstanding with his pace and skill. It was a performance of three brilliant finishes and a tireless work rate and hopefully the Englishman can keep this form going for the rest of the season.
