After the latest round of international fixtures were played, the Three Lions came out with two wins, a very satisfactory result. Jack Wilshere in particular impressed, his dedication and workrate were great to watch. As a result, Martin Keown spoke to the press, and said that Wilshere has to continue in the same role for England to achieve further success.
The Arsenal man was deployed in the sitting role in front of the Three Lions back four in their 1-0 win over Estonia and earlier against Switzerland, but was played out of position against San Marino in the first half. Keown insisted that it must become a permanent position for the 22-year-old.
There was a lot of rotation in the midfield diamond, but Jack Wilshere needs to become the main man in the holding role.
It used to be a defensive position but players like Andrea Pirlo have made it so technical. Jack is our most technically gifted player so it makes sense for him to play there.
England have won all three of their qualifying games in Group E for Euro 2016 so far under Roy Hodgson.
